Brent Wynnyk

Brent joined Vanguard Air Care in 2023, bringing over 25 years of senior management experience to the team. With a distinguished career spanning 29 years at the Winnipeg Police Service and 13 years with the Province of Manitoba, Brent most recently served as the Director of the Licensing and Compliance Branch at Manitoba Health. In his role at Vanguard Air Care, Brent ensures that the Duty Officers promote a professional image of Vanguard Air Care and Fast Air within the industry, upholding the highest standards of service and integrity.

Cecily Kennedy

Cecily is the Chief Pilot for Vanguard Air Care, managing the implementation of training, communications, and supervision of the flight crews. Cecily began her career with Fast Air Executive Aviation in 2016. She has logged nearly 7000 hours on various aircraft including PC12, BE20, BE02, HS25, CE56, CL30 and holds the authority of Approved Check Pilot. Cecily was the recipient of the “Top 20 Under 40” in aviation recognition by Wings Magazine in 2018.

Christine Senecal

Christine has worked in the Aviation Industry since 2013, joining the team at Vanguard Air Care in 2019. Her experience has been in health and safety, security, administration and talent management. With training in human resource management and organizational behavior she is able to balance employee and employer needs. She finds it very rewarding to help others advance their career and start the next part of their professional journey.

Peter Voth

With over 25 years in the aviation industry, Peter has built a distinguished career characterized by a diverse range of roles and extensive expertise. From 2000 to 2015, Peter worked for Fast Air, where he held key positions in training, supervision, and management, contributing significantly to the company’s operational success.

Since 2019, Peter has been serving as the Operations Manager for Vanguard Air Care, where he brings strategic oversight and operational excellence to the team. In addition to this leadership role, Peter is also a corporate jet captain, amassing over 10,000 hours of flying experience. This combination of management acumen and hands-on piloting skills underscores a unique ability to lead aviation operations while ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Throughout his career, Peter has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the aviation industry, continuously striving for excellence and operational integrity in every endeavor.

Sean McLaughlin

Sean is the Person Responsible for Maintenance Control for Vanguard Air Care. He is also the Quality Assurance Manager for Fast Air. Sean graduated from Confederation College with a diploma in aircraft maintenance, in 1996. Sean has worked in the aircraft maintenance field in Manitoba for 20 plus years.

Jeff Bedosky

Jeff has been a paramedic for over 30 years and has worked in a variety of roles in that capacity. He served the community of Winnipeg for nearly 20 years before moving to an aeromedical environment. Jeff then moved to Vanguard as a flight paramedic in 2011 before transitioning to a remote industrial paramedic position in 2013.

More recently Jeff has developed his passion for teaching and adult education, and has recently had the opportunity to enhance his teaching abilities with simulated medical education.
An ACP since 2002, and a qualified flight medic since 2007. Jeff is a mentor and preceptor since 1992 and have taught PCP students through Criti-Care since 2012. Jeff is also certified to teach ACLS.

Ross Bale

With 30 years in Emergency Medical Services, Ross brings an immense level of experience and knowledge to the Vanguard Team, and the patients we serve. Ross joined Vanguard in 2010 and is dedicated to ensuring that our Air Ambulance services set the standard for patient care. Ross retired from the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service in 2012 to accept the role of Chief Flight Medic responsible for MedEvac Operations at Vanguard.

Throughout his career, Ross has held distinguished positions on various provincial and federal EMS committees. In addition, Ross operated a successful business serving the EMS industry, which received a number of achievement awards for customer service, underscoring his commitment to those he serves.

Ross’s hands-on approach in managing the MedEvac operation has helped to take Vanguard MedEvac to a new level of service delivery. Ross continually encourages and motivates the MedEvac Team; creating a safe, efficient and productive operation. Ross’s commitment to continual team support and coaching help ensure our medical staff are fully engaged in achieving success and providing optimum care.

Dr. Zoe Piggott

Dr. Piggott completed her MD at Queen’s University before moving to Winnipeg to start the University of Manitoba’s Emergency Medicine residency program.  Since earning her FRCP-C in Emergency Medicine, she has been working as an academic and community emergency physician in Winnipeg.  Professional interests include transport medicine, toxicology, and resident teaching.  She also enjoys travel and gardening in her spare time.

Dr. Paul Ratana

Dr. Ratana completed medical school at the University of Calgary and his Royal College training in emergency medicine at the University of Manitoba. Paul is an emergency physician on staff at St.Boniface Hospital, a teaching hospital and cardiac referral centre for the Province of Manitoba.  His clinical work also includes physician supported critical care air transport.
